This remarkable winery situated in Frankland River, some 360kms south of Perth in Western Australia, was established in 1998 by Ferngrove founder Murray Burton.

Murray’s faith in this unique vineyard region was well founded. Thanks to its location 90kms (60 miles) from the coast, between the cooling influence of the converging Southern and Indian oceans, the region has a rare and cool climate that allows grapes to ripen with remarkable consistency from year to year. Delivering fruit and thus wine with characteristic delicacy and clear varietal character.

In just seven years Ferngrove has gathered incredible critical acclaim from wine writers and wine shows, showing the passion and creativity to become one of Australia’s great wine producers.

Creative Wine Styles

The Symbols range offers fresh, flavoursome and distinctly easy-drinking quality wines at affordable prices. This range includes Sauvignon Blanc Semillon, Shiraz Viognier and Cabernet Merlot.

The Ferngrove Estate range is typically Frankland River in style and offers wines with elegance and finesse, yet modern, stylish and very approachable. They include Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot and Shiraz.

The Orchids range features wines made from premium parcels of estate-grown fruit, representing the pinnacle of Frankland River winemaking.  Each label is named after the beautiful, native orchids found in the region: Cossack Riesling, Diamond Chardonnay, Dragon Shiraz, King Malbec and Majestic Cabernet Sauvignon.

The Stirlings is Ferngrove’s flagship red. The winemaker selects only the very best parcels of fruit from the Frankland River vineyards for this wine and therefore the varieties used may vary from vintage to vintage.
